Mark Sutherland & Nobuo Kubota

W. Mark Sutherland is an intermedia artist whose work blurs the borders between visual art, poetry and music. Recent work includes the following exhibitions; Scratch, The Robert McLaughlin Gallery, To Hear Is To See, YYZ Gallery, Metalogos, VAC Clairington, Poetische Positionen II, Kasseler Kunstverien, Kassel, Viaggio Nella Parola, Cassa di Risparmio, and La Spezia.

Nobuo Kubota is a Toronto inter-media artist, musician, and sound port. Recent work includes a solo exhibition entitled "Phonic Slices" at the Lonsdale Gallery in Toronto. Video Lab, Loop Holes at The Justina M. Barnicke Gallery, public performances at the Propost Poetry Festival in Barcelona, Spain; Voices + Festival, Victoria, etc. In 2009 he was the winner of the Canada Governor General's Award in Visual and Media Arts.

Slowpokes. An improvised sound-poem slowed to a crawl. Their aesthetic practice is a hybrid that pivots on the creation of work operating in the space between two or more disciplines - poetry, music, visual art, and performance art.
