Melissa Guevara

She has a degree in Art with a concentration in Ceramics from the University of El Salvador. She has taken part in group exhibitions in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador and Costa Rica.  She participated in the “Tregua para el Aburrimiento” exhibition as part of the Artificio Collective.  She was selected for JUANNIO 2010, Guatemala, VALOARTE 2010, Costa Rica and SUMARTE 2010 and 2011, El Salvador.  She participated in the selection of the PROMERICA Biennial 2010 and was chosen for the VII Biennial of Visual Art of the Central American Isthmus, Nicaragua, Also;  she participated in the X Emerging Art 2009 and XI Emerging Art 2010.

Infertile ground. With this action, from "Infertile ground" at El Salvador, I'm interested in the appearance of volatile and changeable environment. It must to be permanent and precise without being modified. It is volatile, therefore; unpredictable characteristics of the context, modify the flow of that barren land, denying the objective.

"Curando Latinoamerica", is a program initiated in 2006, CCESV (El Salvador) invite a curator or an artist to participate in conferences and reviews of young local artists' works, in order to fortify practical and theoretical processes.
